Understanding the World through words

Far from home

Eastern Prayers | Clamatis

The spider weaves intricate
Silken webs, like your
Purple flowered vine
Overtakes my eastern
Ochre fence.

Climbing, reaching
To view the call
To morning prayers,

Shrouding my lone
Palm tree with your
Royal keffiyeh.

Like a Bedouin
Protects his
Mysterious
Desert beard.

Tango

The palm tree and wind
Are intimate friends.

They play
Off each other in a
Lighthearted yet romantic dance.

It reminds me of a
Tango:

While one leads, the other
Bends, and how the palm tree
shimmers in delight—swayed
And moved with such wind-swept ease;
Returning, only
To be touched and lovingly embrace again.
