1000 Sicilian Sailors-Poem

by Samuel De Lemos

And every auspicious moment
deserves a poem
how much more when love is found?

With Bear and Veronica
we come across
beautiful people as
love resounds.

On their special,
“I do wed thee—day.”

Listening to ocean songs
and nuptial voices
from singing birds
while
beneath the tranquil shade
of a cypress tree, and

California weather so fair
1000 Sicilian sailors would be jealous of her.

I toast this mild April
sunny-day:

and bid you
happiness,
life,
patience,
and prosperity.
