Combed Sand

by Samuel De Lemos

The Japanese Tea Garden is
Finally open but with
Tons of people lined up
To take the stroll.

Somehow, it’s not the same
When you hear Catalan,
German and Tegalog

while Vietnamese wedding
Photographers are cordoning off the pristine back-area bridge.

It’s not like I’m against multi-cultures, don’t get me wrong. The park was just packed to the gills with tourist just like me.

Even the Koi fish were hiding
From the melee.

The kids enjoyed it,
They love to be anywhere outdoors. Skipping and jumping then playfully promenading over an ancient narrow granite bridge.

sometimes I need stillness, like those quiet stones perfectly placed inbetween the meticulously combed sand.
